Who We Help
We aim to help as many people as possible on our journey, our first preference being to give a hand up through meaningful, well-thought-out service, rather than a handout. We rely on our Dominican partners to guide us in our choice of work sites for each project, for they know far better than we the needs of their own people - some just need a helping hand, others need food, shelter or medical attention. Most Dominican schools need a makeover.

Our partners, particularly our Rotary and Rotaract friends, offer us invaluable support, unique service opportunities and meaningful experiences with the communities they work within. When it is they who guide us through helping those in need, the help given is that much more relevant, sensitive and appropriate.

We help:
  • organizations and professionals that promote the health and well-being of children and families in need, so that we can truly say we help the people help themselves
  • the children and teachers of all the communities we've been introduced to
  • Dominicans
    • living in poor communities in need of aid
    • living in extreme conditions in barrios with great needs
  • Haitians living in the Dominican Republic, legally or illegally
    • living in squatter communities in need of aid
    • living in extreme conditions in bateys with great needs
  • the sick, the destitute and the hungry, often by small acts of charitable kindness and better still by referring them to local sources of help
