You must have a valid passport to enter the Dominican Republic. If you need to apply for a new passport, apply early to prevent delays. www.ppt.gc.ca

You are encouraged to make 3 photocopies of the main page of your passport. Leave one safely at home, include one in your application package and put the other in the bottom of your luggage. We keep all passports and landing cards in safe-keeping once everyone is through Customs and Immigration.

Volunteers of nationalities other than Canadian need to call the Dominican Republic Consulate to confirm the current status between their country of origin and the Dominican Republic. If a travel visa is required, the Consulate will assist with the process of obtaining one. See www.drembassy.org, or Phone: 1-613-569-9893 or Fax: 1-613-569-8673
